Plateau Brighton

In the heart of Brighton, Plateau Brighton is a lively French style bar and restaurant serving an unusual list of naturally produced wines and modern European sharing plates made from only the freshest ingredients.

With high quality, carefully crafted ingredients, they like to keep things simple at Plateau. The ambience and friendly environment at Plateau is perfect for spending time with friends, going on a romantic date, and celebrating special occasions.

The sense of intimacy, the warm and welcoming interior, the dark and moody colours, the industrial feel. A place like Plateau won’t overdo it and hardly try, so it’s perfect for dinner.

Extensive Wine List

With a cosy atmosphere and mostly natural wines, Plateau aims to be a place where you can experience wine-tasting without pretension. It’s the only place in Brighton that serves natural, organic and biodynamic wines.
Often, the wines are sourced from independent local producers, and taste delicious and are fun to share with family, friends, or your special someone! You’re sure to find something new at your next visit with their increasingly large and diverse wine list, which also changes frequently.

The Plateau Restaurant will be awarded Brighton’s Best Wine List for the year 2020.

Plateau Brighton Menu

Bite-sized, seasonal and small-plate-focused. The menu at Plateau Brighton changes daily reflecting the freshest produce available.
The restaurant encourages their diners to share plates. The Bites Menu at Plateau Brighton offers inventive and sharable plates designed to delight and surprise you.
Perfect for what we call “wine by the plate”, these small portion items complement the action and pace of the vibrant bar.

All their main course are always available and changing daily if you didn’t fancy sharing. They do a good variety of foods and nice presentation for all meals. Plateau dining is always fresh, so whatever takes your fancy, choose from one of the main courses or be adventurous and try something new.

I ordered Braised Shallot and Parmesan Ravioli. This sweet, onion filled pasta was served perfectly. I was made to think differently about the stuffing that goes in my filled pasta as it was completely different. The crème fraiche and walnuts provided just the right amount of flavouring for the pasta.

Independent natural wine bar, restaurant with sharing plates, good vibe, music for events, wine tasting, parties, functions and the best cocktail bar.

This was when I was greatly impressed. However, the Plateau de Viandes rocked up which was a dream come true for carnivores. Despite being fairly expensive, you do get quite a lot for your money and the quality of the product does justify its high price. The dish is essentially a refined assortment of grilled meat, which includes soft, sweet bavette steak, sausages, the best pork belly you’ll ever have, a little burger with succulent pulled pork and a thick slice of their own Boudin Noir, basically black pudding. With it were perfect complements of lentils, garnishes, and chutneys, as well as truffle fries with Pecorino shavings for a side dish.

Despite its high cost, Plateau is one of the better restaurants in the city and a better value for money as well.

Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Plateau has become a great meeting place for many friends and families in Brighton.
